Technology giant Google recently officially launched a complete set of new generation search ad formats based on the Gemini large model at its annual marketing conference. This initiative aims to deeply integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into users' ad experiences, helping brands achieve more precise contextual connections with consumers during their daily research and decision-making processes.
As users increasingly rely on AI Mode to make faster and more confident purchasing decisions, the traditional traffic entry points of search engines are being completely restructured. The new ad formats introduced by Google not only provide highly relevant product details but also offer immediate, useful guidance tailored to users' unique needs.
Embedded AI Interpreter for Conversational Discovery
The biggest highlight of this update is that the new ad formats all include an independent AI interpreter. The Gemini model will evaluate and synthesize information about products or services in real-time, presenting it along with the advertiser's creative content, while the system will clearly mark it as "Sponsored" (sponsored content) to ensure transparency of information.
In the new format, "Conversational Discovery Ads" can provide customized creative answers to specific and complex user questions, while the "Highlighted Answers" feature focuses on presenting high-quality, relevant ads as the first recommendation list directly on the web page when users seek advice.
Upgraded Direct Offers and Integrated Native Checkout
Aside from innovations in interactive formats, Google is also continuously upgrading its "Direct Offers" pilot project launched earlier this year. In the coming months, search results will introduce "AI-driven shopping ads" and "potential customer business agents" that can embed brand agents directly into ads, providing users with instant personalized answers.
To further shorten the consumer journey, the new system has also introduced two important updates: "Promotional Bundles" and "Native Checkout." Merchants will be able to accurately build discount combinations through AI briefings, and shoppers will be able to quickly secure offers and complete purchases without leaving the page.
