On January 15, the Tongyi App announced full integration with Taobao Flash Sales and Alipay AI Pay, enabling one-sentence food ordering.
Users just need to speak naturally in the Tongyi chat box, such as "Order me a cup of milk tea" or "Order me two coffees," and Tongyi will recommend suitable merchants, generate orders, and complete payment through the built-in "Alipay AI Pay" function. The entire process does not require switching to other apps, achieving "Say a sentence, and it's delivered."
As the payment infrastructure of the AI era, Alipay has opened its native AI payment capability "AI Pay" designed for general intelligent agents to the Tongyi App, solving the pain point of "easy decision-making but difficult payment" for intelligent agents. This enables intelligent agents to go beyond answering questions and truly have the ability to "handle tasks." It is reported that, in addition to food delivery, the Tongyi App will also launch more scenario payments based on Alipay AI Pay.
Previously, AI intelligent agents had capabilities such as information retrieval and demand analysis, but lacked a secure and trustworthy payment execution capability, making it difficult to complete the commercial cycle from service to transaction. This collaboration between the two sides has established a new model that allows intelligent agents to provide full-service chain solutions including product discovery, order decision-making, and transaction payment under user authorization.
In the first Tongyi App that realizes intelligent agent payment, payment is naturally integrated into the AI conversation flow. Compared to traditional methods that require interrupting the current process or switching to another app, the steps required by Alipay AI Pay can be reduced by more than 60%.
Taking food delivery as an example, users can complete the process in just three steps within the Tongyi App:
1. Users state their order requirements, such as "Order a cup of milk tea"
2. After selecting a merchant, the order is generated
3. Users click "Alipay Pay" to complete the payment (for first-time use, account binding is required; during payment, identity verification is done via face, fingerprint, or password)
