Against the backdrop of AI Agents (intelligent agents) increasingly penetrating commercial scenarios, payment giant Alipay is gradually deepening its presence in this field. On April 28, Alipay officially launched the "AI Pay" feature, aiming to provide merchants and individual developers with more convenient closed-loop commercial services.
The launch of this feature means that AI Agents such as OpenClaw (commonly known as "Lobster" in the industry) can now access Alipay's payment system through more standardized interfaces. For developers, the core value of this tool lies in enabling "instant payment upon call," significantly simplifying the billing and revenue sharing processes when intelligent agents provide commercial services.
This is another significant move by Alipay following the previous release of the "AI Pay" feature. While "AI Pay" focuses on upgrading the user-side payment experience, "AI Pay" addresses the shortcomings on the supply side by providing a payment solution. Now, Alipay has initially established a complete two-way ecosystem in the intelligent agent payment field, covering both payment and collection.
Industry analysts believe that as AI Agents evolve from simple information interaction to complex service execution, the payment infrastructure supporting their commercial operations will become increasingly critical. By improving the intelligent agent payment ecosystem, Alipay not only provides developers with new monetization pathways but also leaves ample room for future AI-driven business model iterations.
