Apple has officially announced that it will hold a smart home product launch event with the theme "Welcome Home" in New York on October 13. This is the first major strategic move in the smart home field by new CEO John Ternus, marking Apple's comprehensive revival of its market strategy in this area.
The core highlight of this launch is a new form of smart home central hardware. The device features a square display screen of about 6 inches, which can be flexibly placed on a desktop or mounted on a wall. Alongside it are also the updated version of the Apple TV4K streaming set-top box with significantly improved performance and the upgraded HomePod mini smart speaker.
All new products deeply integrate Apple's latest Siri AI technology, with the smart home hub being given a central role in interaction and control. In the face of long-term competition between Amazon and Google in edge-side intelligence, Apple aims to redefine the entry experience of the whole-home smart ecosystem by combining terminal hardware upgrades with generative AI capabilities.
As generative AI accelerates its penetration into home scenarios, hardware collaboration and generative interaction are becoming key breakthroughs for tech giants to win the second half of the smart home market.
