According to media reports, the general session team of Douyin's Doudian is undergoing personnel adjustments, with the team size expected to be reduced by about half. This adjustment was driven by Zhao Qi, the head of Doudian.

The report states that the team previously had around 50 people and was one of the largest teams within Doudian. It mainly focused on Doudian chat (Chat) product capabilities, including product strategies and evaluation work. After this adjustment, some employees will be transferred to Doudian's commercialization and Feishu teams, while others will be laid off.

At the same time, the product posttrain-chat team responsible for the chat direction is also being downsized. This team is led by Zhu Wenjia and belongs to the large model department Seed. It collaborates with the Doudian product team to conduct posttraining based on the Seed foundational model and produces small models directly usable by Doudian. Due to a decrease in related business demand, some employees have already been transferred to departments such as Horizon RL and product posttrain-work. In addition, the person in charge of the Doudian chat model integration has changed twice within a month.

This adjustment involves the Doudian product team and the model posttraining process, reflecting that ByteDance is reconfiguring resources for dialogue products and model R&D according to business needs. The team size and organizational structure may further concentrate on high-demand scenarios such as commercialization and office work.
