On September 7, the joint team of Tencent HuanYuan and WorkBuddy released the "Hy4 Preview Model Upgrade Announcement." The announcement stated that since the initial release of HuanYuan Hy4 Preview on WorkBuddy, it has received positive experiences and enthusiastic feedback from a wide range of users and developers.
In response to issues raised in the feedback, such as "long thinking under complex tasks and excessive self-verification," the team has carried out special optimizations and has fully rolled them out. Through dual monitoring with Bench metrics and manual evaluation, the optimized version significantly reduced the number of task rounds and the consumption of input and output tokens without sacrificing task performance.
Hy4 Preview was released and open-sourced on August 28, with a total parameter count of 770B and an activated parameter count of 49B. The context length exceeded 1M, focusing on optimization for Agent, Coding, and productivity scenarios. On September 1, the HuanYuan team also launched a lightweight version, compressing the weights from 1.5TB to approximately 214GB, further lowering the threshold for local deployment. According to the weekly data published on OpenRouter on September 7, Hy4 Preview topped the global rankings with 14.7 trillion Tokens in usage volume and a 379% month-over-month growth rate.
