Microsoft officially launched a new platform called "Project Solara" this Tuesday, which is specifically designed to provide technical support for products that primarily use AI agents as the main mode of interaction. Microsoft's move aims to free AI agents from the constraints of traditional laptop and smartphone screens, integrating them deeply into various enterprise mobile devices.

Regarding this project, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had an in-depth conversation with Qualcomm's president. The two parties jointly explored the necessity of developing new hardware devices and unanimously agreed that existing interfaces such as PCs and smartphones are not the best solutions in certain work environments. The industry needs new types of terminals that are more suitable for running specific AI agents.

Concept Designs Make Their Debut

To visually demonstrate the application potential of the Project Solara platform, Microsoft, during the launch, collaborated with Qualcomm and MediaTek to showcase two "concept designs" developed for enterprise scenarios. These devices were designed with the concept of "agent-first," aiming to provide enterprise employees with a more efficient and seamless interaction experience.

One of the highly anticipated devices is essentially an employee ID badge with significantly enhanced functionality. This badge not only has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and wireless connectivity features, but also includes a dedicated touchscreen and fingerprint reader, allowing employees to communicate with an AI assistant anytime and anywhere through a wearable device.
