On April 24, the AI startup ComfyUI, which evolved from an open-source project, announced a $30 million funding round, with the company's valuation reaching $500 million. The round was led by Craft Ventures, with participation from Pace Capital, Chemistry, and TruArrow. As a node-based workflow platform, ComfyUI addresses the pain point of mainstream diffusion models lacking precise control when generating images, videos, and audio, allowing users to finely adjust every step of the generation process.

Compared to "slot machine"-style black-box interactions like those based on prompts in Midjourney or ChatGPT, ComfyUI's precise collaboration mechanism has attracted over 4 million users, with applications spanning professional fields such as visual effects, animation, advertising, and industrial design.

Since its open-source launch in 2023, ComfyUI has quickly filled the technical gap in generative AI's transition from "text generation" to "industrial-level production." Despite continuous iterations of underlying diffusion models, the demand for high-precision, repeatable workflows has only increased. In fact, the "ComfyUI Artist" role has even become a new job position in creative studios.

After completing a $19 million Series A funding round at the end of 2024, ComfyUI is further solidifying its core position in the AI creator toolchain. With the deepening of human-computer collaboration, this node-based workflow that emphasizes productivity tools is gradually surpassing simple conversational interaction, becoming the standard operating procedure for professional-level AI media generation.
