Today, the Tencent Cloud Code Assistant team announced a major version upgrade for its desktop AI agent product, WorkBuddy (known in the industry as "Little Shrimp"). This update primarily addresses the collaboration bottlenecks between AI agents and mainstream communication tools, and for the first time, realizes a WeChat one-click connection feature. Users can remotely control the PC-side AI agent to perform tasks by scanning a QR code through the mobile WeChat app.

In terms of technical infrastructure, WorkBuddy has added a new enterprise WeChat WebSocket long connection access method, significantly improving the stability and reconnection efficiency of remote connections. It also optimizes the integration experience with IM platforms such as QQ and Feishu. For productivity scenarios, the new version officially launches an automated task flow, supporting scheduled report generation, competitor data collection, and meeting note organization. This marks the product's evolution from a single conversational interaction tool to an "AI employee" with self-planning capabilities.
Zhang Jun, Director of Public Relations at Tencent, stated that the development team maintained a high-intensity R&D rhythm for this iteration. As large model applications enter deeper waters, desktop-level AI agents are becoming a key battleground for vendors to secure AI application entry points. WorkBuddy further validates the feasibility of AI edge-side automation by lowering deployment barriers and enhancing ecosystem compatibility. Industry analysts believe that Tencent's move aims to leverage its social ecosystem advantages to accelerate the penetration of AI agents into personal office and enterprise collaboration scenarios.
