Silicon Valley's renowned venture capital firm a16z recently released its report titled "Top 100 Consumer-Level Generative AI Applications in March 2026," indicating that the global artificial intelligence market is experiencing unprecedented expansion and diversification. In this competition, ChatGPT continues to hold an undisputed dominant position, with its web traffic and mobile active user numbers exceeding those of Gemini by more than twice. Over the past year, ChatGPT's weekly active users have surged by 500 million, and currently, over 10% of the global population uses this tool every week, making it a global infrastructure phenomenon.

Although ChatGPT leads far ahead, the intensity of market competition has not decreased. In the past year, Gemini and Claude saw significant acceleration in their paid user growth, with growth rates reaching 258% and 200%, respectively. At the same time, multi-tenant behavior among users has become increasingly common, with about 20% of loyal ChatGPT users simultaneously using Gemini to handle tasks. This change in competitive landscape reflects how users are seeking optimal tool combinations based on the characteristics of different models while pursuing general intelligence.

Notably, the AI market is gradually splitting into three distinct geographical ecosystems, with DeepSeek being the only product capable of bridging regional divides. In markets such as China and Russia, where Western mainstream tools struggle to penetrate, DeepSeek has demonstrated strong influence. Data shows that more than 30% of DeepSeek's traffic comes from China, and Russia has become its second-largest saturated market globally. This unique penetration ability has opened up new growth paths outside the Western AI camp led by countries like the United States, India, and the UK.

The rise of the Russian market has become another highlight of this list. In addition to DeepSeek's popularity, the local tech giant Yandex, with its browser integrated with the Alice AI assistant, successfully entered the top ten mobile AI products globally, with a monthly active user count of 71 million. This indicates that, in the second half of generative AI, building ecosystems based on geographical and cultural differences has become a key factor in shaping the global AI landscape, in addition to the competition in computing power and algorithms.
