March 9, 2026, Tencent officially launched the full-scenario AI agent WorkBuddy, aiming to address the complexity of deploying large models on terminals and the high application barriers. The product is deeply compatible with all skills of the open-source project "Little Shrimp" (OpenClaw), and through its no-deployment and out-of-the-box features, it marks a major evolution of desktop-level AI agents (AI Agents) from niche tools to common productivity tools.
Technically, WorkBuddy simplifies the cloud configuration process completely, allowing users to start using it immediately after downloading and installing. Its core competitiveness lies in powerful integration and collaboration capabilities: the product includes more than 20 skill packages and supports the MCP protocol, enabling parallel task processing across multiple windows and agents. In terms of connectivity, WorkBuddy integrates with mainstream collaboration tools such as WeCom, QQ, Feishu, and DingTalk, supporting remote voice control to perform complex delivery tasks such as information retrieval, copywriting, and automated report generation.
In terms of model ecosystem, WorkBuddy demonstrates a high degree of openness, supporting one-click switching between major domestic large models such as Tencent HuanYuan, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, MiniMax. To address enterprise application pain points, the product is based on Tencent's CodeBuddy architecture, integrating unified account billing and comprehensive security audit capabilities.
According to data, CodeBuddy has achieved a coverage rate of over 90% among engineers within Tencent, with AI-generated code accounting for more than 50%, and R&D efficiency improved by over 20%. Currently, WorkBuddy has completed a 2000-person internal test and is officially launched, offering users a 5000-Credits experience subsidy. With the launch of WorkBuddy, PC-side AI assistants are accelerating from a single chat window form to an "autonomous driving" stage with underlying system operation permissions.
