The U.S. Department of Defense (also known as the War Department) has recently announced a major technological upgrade plan. According to a recent official statement, the Department of Defense will formally collaborate with AI giant OpenAI to deeply integrate ChatGPT into its general-purpose enterprise-level artificial intelligence platform GenAI.mil.

This collaboration is unprecedented in scale, with OpenAI's cutting-edge large language models being made available to all 3 million personnel under the Department of Defense. U.S. officials stated that introducing ChatGPT aims to significantly improve mission execution efficiency and overall readiness of the forces, providing joint forces with a more decision-making advantageous artificial intelligence support.

Notably, as the platform that carries this technology, GenAI.mil has successfully exceeded one million independent users within just two months of its launch. The platform was previously supported by Google Gemini at the underlying level, and its high reliability and robust infrastructure have been verified in multiple military applications. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth highly praised it, stating that artificial intelligence has officially opened a new chapter in future warfare, and by integrating models like ChatGPT, the U.S. military is synchronizing with the latest achievements in the tech industry at "wartime speed."
