In 2026, AI technology is no longer just an experimental project in enterprises. According to HCLSoftware's latest "2026 Technology Trends Report," global companies are undergoing a profound transformation: as many as 85% of surveyed companies have already started operating or testing autonomous AI agents. This data marks a shift in AI from a "helper" role that provides suggestions to an "actor" role capable of making independent decisions and executing tasks.

The report is based on in-depth research with 173 C-suite executives. It points out that over 80% of companies have already deployed AI systems in production environments.HCLSoftware Chief Product Officer Kalyan Kumar said that future business competitiveness will no longer depend on what is built but on how much autonomy and management capabilities are given to the technology. He believes that the next two to three years will belong to leaders who can transform AI intelligence into "automated operational models."

This wave of automation is covering all levels of enterprises. Data shows that 92% of organizations are actively investing in robotic technologies that combine cloud and cognitive systems, while 84% of companies expect AI-driven low-code and no-code platforms to be widely applied within 18 months, automating software creation itself.

However, issues related to governance lagging behind development have emerged. Although about 80% of companies use AI agents, only 26% have established clear regulatory frameworks to govern these systems' behavior. Currently, cybersecurity and responsible AI have become urgent priorities for one-third of companies.

Key Points:

  • 🚀 Surge in Adoption: 85% of global companies are already running or testing autonomous AI agents that can act independently, making AI the cornerstone of business operations in 2026.

  • 🛠️ Comprehensive Automation: Over 84% of companies plan to automate software development through AI-powered low-code platforms within one and a half years, while 92% of organizations have already adopted advanced robotic technologies.

  • ⚠️ Governance Gaps Emerge: Although AI is widely used, only 26% of companies have comprehensive governance frameworks. Security and transparency have become new challenges in the implementation of technology.
