Google announced injecting the Gemini model into Google Maps, launching four AI features, initially available on iOS and Android versions, and planned to expand to Android Auto in the coming weeks:

1. Know Before You Go — when searching for restaurants or hotels, Gemini automatically aggregates reviews and online information, providing one-click tips on booking methods, hidden menus, and the best parking spots.

2. Landmark Navigation — instead of prompting "turn right after 500 meters," it will say "turn right after Thai Siam Restaurant," with the system cross-referencing 250 million location data points and street view images to provide visible landmarks in real time.

3. Charging Station Prediction — combining historical and real-time data, it predicts the number of available charging stations at the user's arrival time, helping electric vehicle owners avoid peak charging times. This feature will first launch on Android Auto and vehicles with built-in Google systems.

4. Anonymous Reviews — users can customize their usernames and avatars to post reviews without revealing their real names, encouraging more authentic feedback. This feature will be fully rolled out this month.

Google stated that all new features will be free for logged-in users, and conversation data will not be used for ad targeting.
