World Labs, a startup co-founded by AI expert Fei-Fei Li, has recently launched its first commercial world model product - Marble. This product allows users to generate editable and downloadable 3D environments through various input methods such as text prompts, photos, videos, and 3D layout diagrams. Marble now offers free trial and paid subscription services, suitable for multiple fields such as game development, film effects, and virtual reality.

The release of Marble comes just over a year after World Labs completed a $230 million funding round, marking its leading position in the world model field. Compared to free demo versions of other market competitors like Decart and Odyssey, Marble can generate persistent 3D environments and allows users to perform more editing and customization. The product is designed to reduce scene distortion and inconsistency, and supports exporting generated worlds in various formats, including Gaussian splats, meshes, and videos.

One significant feature of Marble is its built-in AI editing tools, allowing users to manually build a spatial framework first, then have the AI supplement visual details. This function enables users not only to generate 3D worlds but also to perform deep editing. Justin Johnson, co-founder of World Labs, stated that the capabilities of this model will continue to improve over time.

In terms of input, the official version of Marble now supports uploading multi-angle images and short video clips, generating more realistic digital environments. Meanwhile, World Labs also launched an experimental 3D editor called Chisel, allowing users to easily design spatial layouts by combining text prompts with direct manipulation of 3D objects.

In terms of pricing, Marble offers multiple subscription plans, allowing users to choose different versions based on their needs. Johnson emphasized that Marble is not intended to replace traditional game development processes, but rather to be integrated into existing development pipelines as a generative tool, helping developers create background environments and atmospheric spaces more efficiently.

Notably, Marble is already compatible with mainstream VR devices such as Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3, allowing users to immediately experience the generated 3D worlds. Additionally, Marble has shown potential in the robotics field, helping to build simulation training environments.
