According to the government statement, this large facility will have a computing capacity of up to 500 megawatts, aiming to support advanced artificial intelligence computing. The project will operate under Argentina's RIGI tax reduction plan implemented last year, meaning it will enjoy corresponding preferential policies in terms of economic and technical support.

OpenAI currently has over 800 million weekly ChatGPT users. After its recent secondary equity sale, the company's valuation has reached 500 billion US dollars, making it the most valuable startup in the world. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said on social media: "We are proud to announce our collaboration with a leading Argentine energy company, Sur Energy, to launch the exciting new 'Stargate Argentina' infrastructure project." Altman also pointed out that this is the first Stargate project in Latin America, a region full of talent, creativity, and ambition.

This week, OpenAI announced a series of new partnerships at its developer conference, including companies such as Spotify, Zillow, and Mattel, while also launching a new set of tools to help developers build new applications.
