Dongfeng Automobile is about to move robots from the exhibition stand into the workshop. On September 20, it was reported that Zhang Zhenlin, chief general engineer of Dongfeng Automobile's intelligent technology, revealed that its humanoid robot will officially enter the factory in October this year, focusing on tasks such as sorting and quality inspection in the manufacturing field. By the end of this year, the robot will first be tested in small batches and limited areas, aiming to reach the level of a human by the end of next year.

Even earlier is the deployment of robotic dogs. Zhang Zhenlin mentioned that Dongfeng's self-developed quadruped robot will be introduced into scenarios like sales guidance in 4S stores faster than the humanoid robot—legs are faster than hands, and it will run through commercial service lines first. He revealed a key logic: for car companies, the biggest benefit of embodied intelligence is reusability. The perception and decision-making capabilities accumulated from car large models and autonomous driving can be directly transferred to robots, without needing to start from scratch with data, thus subtly accelerating the pace of commercial mass production. According to his judgment, the form of embodied intelligence goes far beyond humanoid or quadruped robots; in the future, the car itself will also become one of them.
