Universal Music Group (UMG) announced on US time on the 10th that it has reached a multi-year licensing agreement and a broader strategic partnership with ElevenLabs, an artificial intelligence audio research and product company. This is also ElevenLabs' first cooperation agreement with a major record label.

The two companies will jointly build a new AI music creation platform based on licensed music and artist participation. This platform, still under development, will provide fans with a new way to create music with participating artists and songwriters, including remixes, medleys, new interpretations, and personalized voice experiences. The two sides will also develop more products and fan experiences in the future.
Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, said: "The most exciting possibilities in the fields of artificial intelligence and music lie in placing artists, songwriters, and fans at the core. Universal Music Group and ElevenLabs both believe that responsible artificial intelligence can inspire music discovery, deepen interaction between artists and fans, and open up new revenue sources for creative communities. ElevenLabs' leading position in the field of artificial intelligence audio has injected new vitality into our growing partner ecosystem, working together to explore the infinite possibilities of human artistic creation in both creative and commercial aspects."
