Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic is significantly accelerating its expansion in the fields of healthcare and life sciences. Recently, the company has been aggressively pursuing acquisitions, investments, and diversified collaborations with AI biotech companies through dedicated hiring managers, with its strategic focus closely covering core stages from drug discovery to clinical development.

Prior to this, Anthropic successfully acquired the AI biotechnology startup Coefficient Bio, which had only been in operation for eight months, through a stock transaction worth approximately $400 million. The original team has officially joined Anthropic's healthcare and life sciences department. This major deal not only allowed the company to quickly gain valuable laboratory experience but also laid a solid foundation for its subsequent expansion. From the current hiring criteria, it is clear that Anthropic places high value on mature experimental processes and the practical implementation capabilities of specialized teams in the biotechnology sector.

In addition to M&A activities at the capital level, Anthropic has also made frequent moves in technical tools and underlying infrastructure. The company recently launched a new research platform called Claude Science, which can deeply integrate various research tools and flexibly call professional models to assist researchers. At the same time, Anthropic also released a research preview of the MHS model hardware standard, aiming to significantly reduce the cost of access and coordination during the experimental process by establishing a unified device control interface, allowing the model's capabilities to smoothly pass down through software, computing, and physical devices.

From an overall architecture perspective, the newly launched research platform and the unified hardware device interface have a strong synergistic effect, enabling mutual reinforcement. However, although the MHS open interface has reduced concerns to some extent and allows other similar models to be used, it is still necessary to continuously monitor the system's reusability and how much actual time it can save for frontline researchers. With the influx of capital and the gradual improvement of underlying tools, Anthropic is building a complete ecosystem chain in the life sciences field, spanning algorithms, data, and physical laboratories.
