Over the past few years, the company has been working on solving a key industry challenge: how to maintain the viability of human living tissues outside the body for extended periods and integrate them deeply with artificial intelligence.

Traditional biological and chemical innovations have always struggled to keep up with the iteration speed of software development. The core reason is that it is ethically impossible to conduct high-risk experiments directly on living humans. This model can predict which untested chemical ingredients may have positive effects on specific skin functions and then tests these ingredients in the living tissue system. Regardless of whether the prediction is accurate, the test results are immediately fed back into the model to optimize the next round of iterations. This perfect closed-loop operation mode of combining a living skin system with AI prediction has significantly accelerated the development of new ingredients.

In terms of business model, Outer Biosciences does not directly launch its own consumer brands. Instead, it standardizes the efficient ingredients developed and provides them to mainstream beauty and pharmaceutical companies through licensing or sales after passing safety tests.
