SenseTime Technology Open Sources 8B Lightweight Multimodal Large Model: Native 4K Output, Comprehensive Visual Editing

SenseTime officially announced the open-source of a new lightweight, native unified multimodal large model, SenseNova U1.5Lite. As a lightweight model with 8B parameters, it demonstrates superior performance in multiple core visual tasks compared to models of similar scale, and even reaches a level comparable to large-scale commercial models in some complex layout and text rendering scenarios.

SenseNova U1.5Lite natively supports context lengths of 3 to 4K, enabling it to handle multiple constraints such as subject, quantity, spatial relationships, text, layout, and style simultaneously, significantly improving stability when executing complex visual tasks.

In terms of specific functional features, the model brings several core upgrades. First, it offers higher-quality visual generation, significantly improving overall composition, color, material, lighting, realism, and local details, effectively avoiding issues where traditional models produce locally correct but overall incomplete results. Second, it provides more reliable native image editing capabilities, enhancing the preservation of subject identity, spatial structure, layout relationships, and non-editable areas, while comprehensively improving the overall performance of local modifications, element replacement, text refinement, and multi-reference image editing.

Additionally, the model also performs well in handling text and complex layouts, strengthening its capabilities in Chinese and English text, posters, infographics, brand visuals, and multi-text formatting, pushing the generation of content toward complete visual expression. In terms of visual control, it supports various methods such as Bounding Box, Visual Marker, and single or multi-image references, allowing for more precise editing of specified regions and objects. More notably, it achieves native 4K high-resolution output, maintaining both the overall macro composition and extremely fine textures, small texts, and lighting effects in high-resolution generation.
