On August 20, the "Shu Qi Na Jin · Zhi Hui Gao Yuan" thematic forum of the Lhasa venue of the 2026 Global Digital Economy Conference was held in Lhasa with great enthusiasm. At the event site, the Lhasa Naji Digital Intelligence Research Institute was officially established, and the highly anticipated "Sunshine Qingyan" general Tibetan language large model was also officially launched.
According to the information, the research results of the "Sunshine Qingyan" general Tibetan language large model were first unveiled on November 19, 2025, and then successfully completed the filing with the Office of the Central Cyberspace Administration. After nearly two months of internal testing and more than two months of public testing, the model was finally officially released today. In his keynote report, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Ni Ma Zaxi from Tibet University and initiator of the Lhasa Naji Digital Intelligence Research Institute pointed out that "Sunshine Qingyan" is a trillion-parameter general Tibetan language large model carefully developed based on a strong base model. It not only perfectly inherits the general intelligence and world knowledge of the strong base model, but also achieves a deep understanding and generation of Tibetan language and the knowledge system of Tibet through the introduction of massive multilingual Tibetan data.
Ni Ma Zaxi also frankly stated that due to the relatively insufficient large-scale computing power and high-quality data required during the model training stage, "Sunshine Qingyan" still has some room for improvement in its overall performance. In the future, the research institute will continue to increase investment in computing infrastructure and data scale, promote rapid iteration and enhancement of model technology capabilities, and plan to launch various parameter-scale "Sunshine Qingyan" series large models tailored for different application scenarios.
In terms of organizational structure and industrial implementation, the Lhasa Naji Digital Intelligence Research Institute was jointly built by the Luwu New District Management Committee of Lhasa City and Tibet University based on their strategic cooperation agreement. The research institute deeply integrates high-quality resources from the government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors. Its core positioning is to serve as an artificial intelligence innovation platform for the digital industry and plateau characteristic industries in Lhasa City and the Tibet Autonomous Region. In the future, it will focus on key technology research and development, achievement verification, and application conversion in the field of artificial intelligence, effectively bridging the gap between scientific and technological innovation and industrial development.
Additionally, at the forum site, a series of Sunshine language technology achievements and multiple research outcomes and products aimed at the cultural tourism industry were also simultaneously unveiled, covering applications such as 3D reconstruction and interactive experience, as well as digital humans. During the event, the organizer also held a joint laboratory signing ceremony and invited many experts and scholars as well as enterprise representatives from the digital economy sector to engage in in-depth exchanges and technical supply-demand对接 on how artificial intelligence can empower enterprise digital transformation.
