Music streaming platform Deezer recently released shocking data: AI-generated music now accounts for more than 50% of its daily uploads. In June this year, the platform saw a peak in daily AI music uploads, with an average of about 90,000 tracks per day.
The rapid influx of AI music is forcing major streaming platforms to redefine content boundaries, but the industry has yet to reach a consensus. Bandcamp has directly banned AI-generated tracks, while Tidal cut off monetization channels for related content; Apple Music uses a voluntary AI tagging system, and Spotify has established its own AI usage ratio policy. Deezer's latest response is to remove AI-generated tracks that have not been played in the past six months, as well as content involving view-fraud to obtain revenue.

Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier stated in a statement, "Deezer has been at the forefront of fighting fraud and reducing the dilution of AI music revenue for the past two years. Now, half of the daily uploads are AI-generated tracks, and we are taking additional measures to protect the rights of artists and songwriters, while focusing on the music that fans truly love."
Looking back at Deezer's tracking data, the expansion of AI music has been continuously accelerating. In January 2025, daily AI-generated track uploads were about 10,000, accounting for 10% of the total daily uploads; by April of the same year, it increased to 20,000 (18%), and by September reached 30,000 (28%), rising to 50,000 (34%) in November. Entering 2026, January had 60,000 (39%), April reached 75,000 (44%), and peaked at 90,000 in June.
Since last year, Deezer has added tags for AI music on its platform and stated that its detection technology can identify tracks generated by AI music startups like Suno and Udio—two companies currently facing copyright lawsuits. At the beginning of this year, Deezer opened its detection technology to other platforms, but it remains unclear whether any mainstream platforms have integrated the tool. Last month, Deezer also launched a tool to screen AI-generated tracks in playlists on Apple Music and Spotify.
