Today, Alibaba Cloud's Bailing officially launched the open-world model product HappyOyster 1.0 (Happy Oyster 1.0). This model supports real-time construction, exploration, and interactive generation of AI digital worlds. It has already released SDKs for Android, iOS, and Web platforms and is now in a phased testing stage on Alibaba Cloud Bailing.
According to the introduction, HappyOyster 1.0 differs from traditional text-to-video models' unidirectional generation mode. Its core training objective is to learn the world state transition rules from "current state/action" to "next state/action." The model learns the evolution process of people, objects, and environments by analyzing massive natural videos. It can simulate the feedback relationships of actions and maintain long-term consistency of characters, scenes, and audio-visual content in the digital world.
The model offers two modes: "World Exploration (Adventure)" and "Real-Time Directing (Directing)." Under the World Exploration mode, users can input text or upload images to generate an interactive digital world. They can change the development of the scene through operations such as moving, jumping, attacking, and driving vehicles. It supports continuous real-time movement and camera control for up to one minute, and the generated content can be exported as the original video.
The Real-Time Directing mode allows users to pause and rewind at any point in the story and adjust the storyline direction with new prompts. This mode can generate real-time video of more than three minutes in 480p or 720p resolution and supports video export.
Alibaba Cloud stated that HappyOyster 1.0 is exploring the next generation of multimodal interactive content forms. It can be applied to open-world game prototypes, interactive short dramas, virtual companions, and immersive cultural tourism experiences. Developers can use the Open API to manage the world state, and use the client SDK to complete real-time communication, video rendering, and interaction control, quickly building playable AI world applications.
Industry experts believe that world models are becoming a new direction for the development of generative AI. Its core capabilities have shifted from "generating content" to "understanding and simulating the world." The release of HappyOyster 1.0 represents the beginning of domestic enterprises exploring new paths for real-time interactive AI environment construction.
