On July 17th, StepX unveiled the world's first large model-native AI agent smartphone, the STEPX Neo prototype, at the "2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC2026)" exhibition in Shanghai, exploring a new form of deep integration between AI agents and mobile terminals.

The STEPX Neo on display features an orange design, differing from traditional smartphones. Its system interface includes modules such as "Aquatic Market," "Workshop," "Soul Settings," "User Identity," and "AI Agent Security." Staff members stated that the "Aquatic Market" will introduce high-quality agent products through external cooperation, providing users with more intelligent services; specific methods for binding the phone will be announced later. "Soul Settings" is used to record user personality, preferences, and usage habits, allowing the AI agent to provide a more personalized interaction experience.

According to the introduction, the STEPX Neo is equipped with the agent-native system Step AOS, which includes the Step AI agent Amoo. It can cover scenarios such as office efficiency, life services, and audio-visual entertainment, and continuously learns user memories, relationships, and preferences.

Demonstrations at the site showed that Amoo can independently complete tasks based on user needs, such as querying concert ticket information and directly jumping to Ctrip to book a hotel, achieving a smart process from understanding the need to service execution.

StepX emphasized that the product currently on display is still a prototype version, and the complete product form and more functions will be announced later. As the capabilities of large models gradually enter terminal devices, AI phones are evolving from simple voice assistants into intelligent agent platforms with task planning, tool invocation, and long-term memory capabilities.
