According to CCTV News, China's first integrated smart operation model combining water, wind, and solar power was officially launched in the Yalong River Basin in Sichuan. The model was introduced by the Yalong River Company of the China Investment Corporation. Its biggest technological breakthrough is connecting the entire process of meteorological, hydrological, and renewable energy resource forecasting with actual power operation decision-making, becoming the "smart brain" of a large clean energy base with tens of millions of kilowatts.

Exceptional data integration capabilities and significant improvement in forecast accuracy

The system's notable advantage lies in its strong data integration capabilities, aggregating massive basic data from satellite remote sensing, ground meteorological monitoring stations, river basin hydrological stations, and new energy station sensor devices. It has established an integrated intelligent forecasting system covering the entire river basin, all resource elements, multiple time scales, and the full business chain including power generation, scheduling, maintenance, and trading. After training with massive real-world data and specialized optimization for complex plateau scenarios, the forecasting capabilities have seen a leap forward.

Chen Deliang, an honorary academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and climatologist, mentioned that traditional models could only accurately predict the inflow of the river basin for about ten days. Now, this large model has extended the forecasting period to 60 days. The hourly forecast accuracy for the first 10 days has improved by about 5%, and the average accuracy of medium- to long-term daily forecasts from day 11 to day 60 has also improved. The speed of meteorological prediction has been upgraded from hours to minutes, significantly enhancing efficiency.
