The newly developed AI operating system, internally codenamed Project Aion, has been exposed. The product was previously under strict confidentiality and is specifically designed for AI PCs. The entire system is built on the Edge browser and web lightweight technology, with an interaction logic completely different from traditional Windows.

The system does not use the classic start menu and desktop icons, but instead adopts a minimalistic AI interaction design. The bottom taskbar can directly call Copilot as the main operation entry. The platform focuses on information flow, content creation, and real-time information, and has a unique "space" feature that automatically categorizes web pages and applications, allowing users to access them in batches with one click, optimizing multitasking efficiency.

This system no longer supports native Windows desktop software. The entire ecosystem centers around web applications, with all programs running in a web environment.

If users need to use traditional desktop software, they can use the Windows 365 remote desktop service to complete the cloud adaptation transition of traditional applications. The entire system takes an AI intelligent assistant as the core of operation, redefining the PC human-computer interaction model, representing Microsoft's new direction in system development for the AI era.
