AI computing power market welcomes another major player, SoftBank enters the U.S. new cloud service with 10-gigawatt infrastructure. On July 2, 2026, SoftBank Group and SoftBank announced that they will officially establish a joint venture called SB Neo Inc. (provisional name) in the U.S. this month, aiming to operate a new "neocloud" business to meet the strong demand for AI computing power from global technology giants. It is understood that the new company will be owned 51% by SoftBank Corporation and 49% by SoftBank Group.

Building on SoftBank Group's current 10-gigawatt energy and AI infrastructure, SB Neo plans to launch the new cloud service to the market by the end of the 2027 fiscal year. The service will focus precisely on large U.S. enterprises, providing high-performance computing resources required for large-scale AI model training and inference.

Facing the growing computing power gap in the U.S. market, SB Neo has outlined a strategic roadmap to gradually expand its service capabilities and plans to further deploy AI infrastructure on a scale of 10 gigawatts. According to insiders, this move is expected to enable SoftBank's annual operating profit to increase by 3 to 4 times, reaching 3 to 4 trillion yen (approximately 18.5 to 25 billion U.S. dollars).
