In the latest iOS 27 system, Apple has made a deep architectural upgrade to the Siri interaction experience. The most notable change is the introduction of a brand-new standalone Siri app, which completely breaks away from the previous limitations of a single voice assistant interaction.
This new application uses an intuitive chatbot design. Users simply need to type instructions in the text box to have smooth conversations with the AI. In addition to basic text communication, the app also supports direct uploading of images and documents, and fully retains the conversation history, making complex cross-task collaboration much more convenient.

In terms of intelligent experience, Apple has not taken a closed approach. Although the system defaults to using Apple's self-developed Siri AI to handle user requests, to meet users' more diverse needs, Apple has specifically opened up a flexible switching interface. Users can long-press the dialogue input box, click the "Ask…" button that pops up, and freely switch between Siri AI and ChatGPT. This open model integration gives users the power to choose the most suitable AI assistant based on specific scenarios.
However, the current version is still in the early iteration stage, and the interaction logic still has some protective mechanisms. According to current test experiences, after closing and reopening the app, the system automatically resets to the default Siri AI mode. Additionally, there is currently no option in the settings to set ChatGPT as the permanent default model.
Although there is still room for refinement in the details, this is undoubtedly a crucial step forward for Apple in its intelligent development. By introducing a standalone app and actively embracing external mainstream models, Apple is trying to ensure the security of the system ecosystem while providing users with a more productive AI interaction experience. With future updates, Apple may support the integration of more diverse AI models, further enriching the user's choice space.
