Artificial intelligence giant OpenAI held a major event titled "Intelligence at Work" on Wednesday morning Beijing time. Faced with increasing competition from rivals in the office AI field, OpenAI has now launched Codex workflow plugins for multiple roles such as stock investment and creative design, aiming to deeply integrate AI into daily business operations and take on more tasks traditionally performed by knowledge workers.

Codex, originally positioned as a programming tool for developers, is now attracting significant attention from the capital market for its non-programming applications. Official data shows that the weekly active users of Codex have exceeded 5 million, with 20% being non-programmers. Meanwhile, revenue from enterprises accounts for 40% of OpenAI's total income.

Customized Skills for Six Job Positions

As the highlight of the event, OpenAI introduced six Codex role plugins covering data analysis, creative production, sales, product design, listed company stock investment, and investment banking. These plugins package 110 professional skills required for related positions and can seamlessly connect with 62 external applications.

In practical use, the plugins are highly targeted. For example, the listed company stock investment plugin helps investors review financial reports and track market signals, while the creative production plugin assists marketing teams in quickly transforming simple ideas into advertising materials, significantly improving the efficiency of specific job positions.

New Interaction Features to Launch Soon

To comprehensively optimize the human-computer interaction experience, OpenAI also introduced two new features, "Annotations" and "Sites," during the event. With the "Annotations" feature, users can directly tell the AI where changes are needed, similar to editing code, and quickly adjust data or switch charts in Excel or financial analysis.

According to official plans, OpenAI will integrate Codex into ChatGPT in the coming weeks, allowing the global 1 billion users to experience the power of intelligent agents in the workplace. As more specialized plugins for jobs such as finance and law are released in the future, this AI-driven workplace revolution will further disrupt traditional office models.
