With the explosive growth of generative AI technology, social platforms are facing unprecedented challenges in governing fake content. At the 2026 Shanghai Internet Audio-Visual Content Creators Conference held on May 28 to 29, Xiaohongshu shared its latest practices and insights on AIGC creation, community governance, and maintaining the ecosystem for new-generation creators.

During the conference, a responsible person from the AI governance team disclosed the latest specialized governance data. As of May 2026, the platform had processed a total of 180,000 notes suspected of being AI-generated fraud, and implemented systematic governance on more than 1.2 million AI-managed matrix accounts. This strong action has exposed the facade of some black industry operations that use automated tools to mass-produce low-quality and fake content.

As AI-generated content (AIGC) becomes increasingly realistic, accurately identifying and intercepting the "machine production lines" of black industries has become an industry challenge. Currently, the platform is enhancing its ability to detect and identify AI content by upgrading model recognition, implementing tiered governance, and introducing community patrols through multiple routine mechanisms.

Industry analysts point out that in the era of large models, content distribution platforms and communities are facing dual challenges: on one hand, they need to embrace the productivity benefits brought by new technologies, and on the other hand, they must precisely intercept the rampant AI-generated content. The recent centralized cleanup of AI-fraud notes and managed accounts aims to maintain the fundamental ecosystem of "authentic sharing" and "trustworthy interaction" within the community, preventing algorithm-generated fake content from eroding users' core trust.
