Meta Platforms Inc. officially announced on May 27, 2026, the launch of consumer subscription plans for its flagship social applications Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp worldwide, while simultaneously initiating new subscription service tests for enterprises, content creators, and AI users. The aim is to diversify revenue sources by deepening user value exploration and reducing over-reliance on single advertising income.

For heavy social media and instant messaging users, Meta has specially designed low-cost "Plus" packages. Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are priced at $3.99 per month, focusing on profile customization, super emojis, and in-depth story insights for social expression; WhatsApp Plus offers personalized message experiences such as app themes and custom ringtones at a monthly price of $2.99. These new services are independent of the existing Meta Verified identity verification service.

More notably, Meta is working to integrate future subscription services under the "Meta One" brand. Starting next month, Meta AI will test two AI-specific packages in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia—Meta One Plus (priced at $7.99 per month) and Meta One Premium ($19.99 per month). Both packages support high-intensity computing queries, with the Premium package unlocking "thinking mode" for deep reasoning and advanced video and image generation across applications. Additionally, the Meta One Essential ($14.99 per month) and Meta One Advanced package ($49.99 per month) for creators and enterprises will be tested later this week in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand, and Bangladesh, offering comprehensive professional support including anti-fraud protection, high-weight search rankings, anti-infringement notifications, and advanced analytics tools.
