During the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Volcano Engine officially launched its next-generation automotive AI solution based on the Agentic AI architecture. This solution deeply integrates AI cockpit packages with the Doubao Cockpit Assistant, marking a shift in automotive human-machine interaction from passive "turn-based" dialogue to an intelligent agent era with autonomous driving capabilities.
At the launch event, Tan Dai, President of Volcano Engine, revealed the phased achievements: currently, Volcano Engine has achieved full coverage of cooperation with 100% of mainstream automakers. Smart cars equipped with the Doubao large model have exceeded 7 million, involving more than 50 brands and 145 models, with daily cockpit interactions and service loop times exceeding 30 million. This core technology upgrade focuses on three key engines: dialogue reasoning, goal-driven, and learning and growth. By building a unified "car brain," the system can now perceive environmental feedback in real time and continuously self-iterate.
To address the differentiated needs of different automakers, Volcano Engine offers diversified collaboration paths from underlying model capabilities to a complete Agent ecosystem. Among them, the Doubao Cockpit Assistant solution, as a complete product-level delivery, will realize interconnectivity between the vehicle's in-car system and the Doubao App on smartphones. The first batch of cooperative models is expected to be mass-produced and launched within the year.
Amid the current global context where open-source model downloads have exceeded 10 billion and AI companies are emerging intensively, Volcano Engine's move not only expands the capability boundaries of AI cockpits but also accelerates the evolution of cars from "transportation tools" to "proactive service intelligent agents" through an Agent-based architecture, setting a new technical paradigm for the large-scale commercialization of in-vehicle AI.
