Recently, a special case triggered by family disputes occurred in Xunhua County, Qinghai Province. A man, due to a conflict with his wife, used AI technology to generate a false photo showing himself "by the Yellow River," attempting to scare his wife and falsely claiming he intended to commit suicide. This behavior not only caused great panic for his wife but also led to an emergency response by the police.
On April 14th, the Xunhua County Public Security Bureau received a report from a woman who said her husband had sent her a shocking photo showing him in the Yellow River water. The woman was deeply worried, thinking her husband might really have suicidal thoughts. Upon receiving the report, the police immediately activated the emergency plan and quickly dispatched officers to the scene for a search.
The police conducted a comprehensive search along the banks of the Yellow River, but after their efforts, they found no signs of any person in the river. Further investigation revealed that the man, after arguing with his wife, used AI to create a fake photo, fabricating the appearance of his suicide, in an attempt to scare his wife.
Facing the police's questioning, the man confessed his actions in front of conclusive evidence and expressed regret. His actions not only wasted police resources but also seriously disrupted social order. According to the People's Republic of China Law on Public Security Administration Penalties, the Xunhua County Public Security Bureau imposed administrative detention on the man.
This incident has sparked discussions across society about the use of AI technology, reminding people that while enjoying the convenience of technology, they should also use it responsibly.
