The smart home interaction has reached an important milestone. On March 17, DuerOS officially announced that its smart home Skills have been launched on ClawHub, marking the official integration of the DuerOS ecosystem into the OpenClaw (Lobster) open ecosystem.

Core Technology Breakthrough: MCP Upgrade

DuerOS completed the MCP (Model Context Protocol) upgrade for smart home control capabilities in the previous year. Based on this protocol, intelligent agents are given the ability to interact with the physical world. This means that DuerOS is no longer just a voice assistant but has become a standardized capability module that can be called, combined, and reused. Developers and users can use these Skills to precisely control hardware within the DuerOS ecosystem, achieve complex scenario interactions, and automate household IoT tasks.

New Interconnection Experience: From Voice to Cloud

This integration brings two core application scenarios evolution:

  • Physical Space Control: Soon, DuerOS will become the physical entry point of OpenClaw. Users can simply interact via voice in the room to control connected computers and other smart devices across platforms.

  • Cloud Collaboration Integration: DuerOS will be deeply integrated with the OpenClaw Cloud Host promoted by Baidu Intelligent Cloud. When users activate the cloud host, the system can default to pre-install DuerOS capabilities, enabling seamless dialogue and command interaction between physical devices at home and cloud-based intelligent agents.

Ecosystem Compatibility and Standardization

Through the OpenClaw framework, the existing large appliance equipment group in the DuerOS ecosystem can be directly reused. This "out-of-the-box" standardized access method significantly reduces the configuration threshold for users and provides a unified control standard for AI intelligent agents to be implemented in the home environment.
