Experts in the UK have recently warned that the number of reports of "organized ritual abuse" guided by ChatGPT is showing a持续上升 trend as survivors begin to use AI tools as a means of psychological counseling and exploration.
UK police pointed out that reports of "witchcraft, possession, and spiritual abuse (WSPRA)" against children have long been underreported in the UK. These crimes typically involve sexual abuse, violence, and neglect, and often include ritualistic elements, with perpetrators frequently using satanic worship, fascism, or mystical religious beliefs to control their victims.
Gabrielle Shaw, CEO of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac), stated that reports related to this issue have been continuously increasing over the past 18 months. Many individuals seeking help explicitly mentioned that ChatGPT advised them to contact professional support organizations. Although the use of AI in psychotherapy remains controversial, experts believe that if it can serve as a pathway for victims to seek formal support, it still has positive significance.
Since 1982, only 14 criminal cases in the UK have officially confirmed ritualistic elements in sexual abuse. However, Dr. Ellie Hansen, a psychologist, pointed out that these convictions represent only the "tip of the iceberg." Investigations found that such abuse is not limited to specific cultures or ethnic groups; it also exists among white British individuals and higher social status privileged families. Due to the often "absurd" nature of the scenarios involved, such cases frequently face issues with evidence chains or lack of trust within the judicial system.
An expert group led by the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) is currently providing specialized training to police forces at all levels. The police emphasized that ritualistic abuse is a real societal issue that must be addressed by establishing a more comprehensive reporting and handling system to address long-standing gaps in justice.
