The Spring Festival holiday has seen the rise of the "hand-crafted economy."

AIbase found that multiple netizens shared and sold their hand-crafted flash apps through the Lingguang App on social platforms, with single small apps selling from hundreds to thousands of units. These flash apps have very low creation barriers; netizens can converse with the Lingguang App using natural language to create interactive mini-applications at zero cost, without needing to write code. Due to its convenient production and no restrictions on the field, it has become a "business" for young people today. For example, one user created a personal growth goal tracking tool called "36 10-day Goals" to help themselves grow, then listed it in their personal store. It not only accumulated nearly a thousand orders but also received a lot of positive reviews, with buyers commenting that "the interface is simple and there are no annoying ads." According to an incomplete statistical report by the journalist, on a certain social media platform, mini-apps related to personal growth created using Lingguang had already sold thousands of units.

As AI gradually shifts from "content generation" to "tool creation," individuals without programming backgrounds can now produce interactive digital tools at a low cost. On just one social media platform, the journalist found multiple Lingguang flash apps being sold. In addition to the super-low-barrier AI app Lingguang, users can also achieve the ability to craft apps without writing code through various code large models and intelligent agent platforms.

According to AIbase's observation, as the popularity of hand-crafted apps grows, a business of "debugging hand-crafted apps" has emerged on social platforms, teaching beginners how to craft apps. A business chain around "crafting apps" is beginning to take shape.

The term "hand-crafting" was once used to describe playing computer games without relying on shortcut keys, completely manually operating. In recent years, with the development of AI technology, it has been commonly used in scenarios such as personal use of AI to develop programs and applications. Last November, the Lingguang App was launched, and its representative feature—flash apps—enabled ordinary people to create apps at a low barrier, truly driving the first wave of mass hand-crafting of apps. According to the information, within a month of its launch, over 12 million hand-crafted mini-apps were created on Lingguang.

According to the information released by Ant Group's AI assistant Lingguang App, during this year's Spring Festival, users used natural language instructions to "craft" personalized mini-applications, covering scenarios such as travel, parent-child education, cultural tourism guidance, and elderly care. People crafted mini-applications like "homework distribution manager," "housework motivation chart," and "vocabulary challenge game" to meet fragmented needs in daily life.

The emergence of the "hand-crafted economy" reflects the shift in AI development—from pursuing general capabilities to focusing on scenario value. However, current "hand-crafted" tools are mainly concentrated in lightweight scenarios, and complex application logic (such as payment and multi-device collaboration) still requires professional development.
