Google's AI note-taking tool NotebookLM has recently released a major update, officially introducing a new feature called "Cinematic Video Overviews." This feature allows users to import research materials, documents, or notes into NotebookLM, and the AI will automatically generate immersive, movie-style customized videos to explain and present the content. Unlike the previous video overview feature (mainly in the form of slide shows with voiceovers),

This upgrade is not just a simple template application but deeply integrates Google's most advanced multiple AI models, including Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro, and Veo 3. These models work together to automatically make hundreds of narrative structure, visual style, and format decisions based on the uploaded materials, generating smooth animations, rich detail visuals, and highly personalized immersive videos, helping users to better learn and understand complex topics.

Currently, this feature is only available to Google AI Ultra paid subscribers (must be at least 18 years old), and it only supports English. Users can experience this feature on the web and mobile devices (Android/iOS). This update marks a further evolution of NotebookLM from a research assistance tool to a more creative productivity-oriented tool, providing strong support for visual learners and content creators. In the future, it may expand to more languages and user groups.
