Recently, a major update has been announced in the AI academic and industrial sectors. Pang Tianyu, a member of the MLNLP academic committee and a senior researcher, has officially joined Tencent Hunyuan as Chief Research Scientist and Head of Multimodal Reinforcement Learning (Multimodal RL) technology. Currently, Pang Tianyu has fully launched the recruitment of top AI talents, aiming to build an elite team to tackle cutting-edge challenges in multimodal generation and understanding models.

Pang Tianyu's resume is impressive. He is a direct Ph.D. student from the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University, graduating in 2017, and was supervised by renowned scholar Zhu Jun. During his studies, he focused on the fields of machine learning and the robustness of deep learning, publishing multiple Oral and Spotlight papers at top conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS, and ICLR. He has won the Microsoft Fellowship and the NVIDIA Academic Pioneer Award. Before joining Tencent, he served as a Senior Research Scientist at Sea AI Lab in Singapore, possessing profound academic background and industrial experience.

It is reported that Pang Tianyu's work at Tencent Hunyuan will focus on the deep integration of reinforcement learning and multimodal models, covering core areas such as diffusion models and vision-language models (VLMs). This "strong combination" marks a further advancement for Tencent Hunyuan in the development of multimodal large model technologies.
