Recently, Google Translate was revealed to be developing a significant AI feature called "Show alternatives." This feature aims to address the long-standing issue of monotonous and rigid machine translation by providing diverse translation suggestions, giving users greater choice in expression.

In the Android version 10.0.36 of Google Translate, the user interface will add an AI button. When clicked, the system will instantly generate three different versions of translations with different emphases. These versions are not simple synonyms, but rather deep adjustments based on business terminology, polysemous words, and context focus, helping users manually select the most appropriate expression according to their actual intent.

This update is particularly efficient when handling languages with social hierarchy (such as Japanese, Korean, and French). The AI can intuitively list different levels from "informal chit-chat" to "formal business honorifics," effectively avoiding communication embarrassment caused by inappropriate word choices for non-native speakers. Currently, this feature is likely to be integrated with Google's testing "Understand" and "Ask" features, forming a complete AI assistance toolchain.
