According to AIbase, the leading company Looki, which stood out in the AI hardware wave of 2025, announced a Series A funding round exceeding $20 million just before CES2026. The round was led by Ant Group, with additional investments from Meituan Longzhu, Huadun, and Zhongguancun Capital. Existing shareholders BAI Capital, Alpha Sphere, and Tongge Venture Capital also increased their stakes. This funding will be primarily used for organizational development, model iteration, product development, and supply chain integration, aiming to accelerate its exploration in the AI-native hardware market and next-generation interaction interfaces.

Founded in May 2024, Looki was co-founded by Sun Yang, former head of intelligent hardware at Meituan, and Liu Bochong, former head of autonomous driving algorithms at Meituan, both alumni of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). The team has gathered top talents from companies such as Google, Amazon, and ByteDance. Since the release of its first product, Looki L1, in August 2025, it has quickly gained popularity in both domestic and international markets, with nearly ten thousand units sold globally so far. Unlike traditional action cameras, L1 pioneered a new category of "life companionship and recording," affectionately called the "Life Viewer." It can sort through life's fragments using visual, audio, and video data, offering creative content with emotional value such as daily summary vlogs and serialized comics.
At the upcoming CES2026, Looki will launch a major feature—“Proactive AI,” pushing hardware from passive response to "context-aware intelligence." Relying on real-time understanding of user habits and the current environment, Looki L1 will no longer wait for instructions but will actively intervene and remind users. For example, when the system detects excessive coffee consumption or prolonged sitting, it will offer timely care; for the CES exhibition, Looki has specifically developed an exhibition assistance function that automatically analyzes key information from exhibitors and provides visiting recommendations.
Looki's founder and CEO Sun Yang emphasized that the company's core philosophy is to build "human-centered" AI, aiming to enhance human rather than replace them. This feature will be rolled out to all global users in the future.
