Recently, the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon press conference was officially held. The event is scheduled to take place on April 19, and it will adopt an innovative "human-robot co-running" model, where human athletes will compete with humanoid robots in a segregated section of the same track. The competition focuses on the autonomy, human-like gait, and long endurance of robots. By setting up autonomous navigation groups and remote control groups, and applying a weighting coefficient to non-autonomous finishing times, it aims to guide technological development toward full autonomy.
At the same time, an "Baturu Challenge" competition will be held, set in an emergency rescue context. It will leverage a secondary development community covering more than 10,000 square meters, providing full-chain technical support for participating teams.
Currently, the humanoid robot industry in Beijing is showing strong growth, with over 30 complete unit companies, ranking among the top in the country. Driven by the first event, some companies have already seen new product orders exceeding 1,000 units. The Beijing Economic and Information Bureau stated that humanoid robots have been included in the "14th Five-Year Plan" high-end and high-tech industrial special plan. In the future, it will continue to promote the integration of complete sets and components through technological breakthrough mechanisms and application scenario design, accelerating the practical application of embodied intelligence technology from the competition field to real-world scenarios.
