Recently, OpenAI officially launched the group chat feature for ChatGPT. This new feature supports up to 20 people online at the same time and allows AI to participate in discussions. Users can easily create a group chat by clicking the "Person" icon in the top right corner of the conversation interface. Inviting other members is very simple—just generate a share link, and anyone with this link can join and invite more members. This way, users can communicate and collaborate more conveniently when working in teams.

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT can play an important role in group chats. Whether planning a weekend trip with friends, designing a garden with family, or discussing projects with colleagues, ChatGPT can act as an assistant for information integration and idea generation. Additionally, it can help teams find restaurants that suit everyone, serve as a referee in debates, and even integrate shared documents and notes in school and work settings.

In terms of privacy protection, OpenAI emphasized that the personal ChatGPT memory of the group chat creator will not be shared with other members, effectively protecting users' personal data security. To adapt to multi-person conversation environments, OpenAI has also trained ChatGPT with new "social behavior," allowing it to determine when to speak and when to stay quiet based on the conversation context, avoiding interruptions. When users need help from AI, they just need to mention (@) ChatGPT in the message to accurately summon it.

OpenAI stated that it will continue to iterate and optimize the group chat feature based on user feedback, aiming to improve the user experience and further promote collaboration between people and AI.
