In November, domestic AI glasses have seen a surge in new product releases. Users who need to wear prescription glasses are paying more attention to the safety and comfort of the lens structure when purchasing. Multiple industry and medical experts stated that "integrated conformal lenses" perform better in optical performance and reliability.

Currently, mainstream AI glasses support functions such as Q&A, photography, navigation, payment, and music playback, with prices ranging from 2000 to 6000 yuan, and they are popular among AI enthusiasts and young users. For users requiring vision correction, AI glasses must simultaneously meet the needs of "image display" and "refractive correction," which imposes higher requirements on lens technology.

Zhu Dianrong introduced that AI glasses typically use two layers of optical structures to solve vision correction issues: one is a waveguide lens, and the other is a vision correction lens. The current mainstream fitting solutions for AI glasses include external attachment, magnetic attachment, and integrated conformal lenses.

He Wancheng said, "Integrated conformal lenses are currently a better and more balanced choice in terms of optical performance and wearing experience." External attachment makes the overall appearance thicker and may cause external light leakage and reflection; magnetic attachment may have gaps between the two layers of lenses, which could lead to dust accumulation over time. Zhu Dianrong also believes that external and magnetic structures increase the weight of the glasses, and the air between the two layers of lenses can reduce the light transmittance of the glasses.

Shao Yuyu, a senior ophthalmologist at the Second Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said, "Integrated conformal AI glasses are lighter and thinner, making them more comfortable to wear. Since the refractive lens and display system are designed as an integrated unit, the visual clarity should theoretically be better. If considering commuting, a more lightweight and convenient integrated AI glasses may be more suitable."

From an industry trend perspective, integrated conformal lenses are becoming the choice of major manufacturers. Including Meta's AI glasses in the United States and Kuaizhi's AI glasses domestically, all adopt factory-customized integrated conformal lens solutions. When placing an order, users provide their optometry data, and the factory completes the lens manufacturing and bonding. The final product received is a finished prescription AI glasses, eliminating subsequent installation and adjustment steps.
