DK Lee, founder of Bone AI, previously co-founded MarqVision. He stated that Bone AI aims to build a complete artificial intelligence platform, integrating software, hardware, and manufacturing. The company primarily targets government and defense customers, developing autonomous aerial drones, ground unmanned vehicles, and maritime unmanned vessels. Currently, the focus is on drones for defense purposes, mainly used for logistics support, wildfire detection, and anti-drone operations.
Recently, Bone AI successfully completed a $12 million seed funding round, led by Third Prime, with participation from South Korean strategic investor Kolon Group. Lee revealed that Bone AI had already secured seven-figure government contracts within its first year and achieved $3 million in revenue. Additionally, Bone AI acquired the South Korean drone company D-Makers and its intellectual property, accelerating its technology integration.
Lee personally committed to investing about $1.5 million, showing his strong confidence in the company. He stated that after examining the industry, he realized that advancements in artificial intelligence and hardware were still separate. Bone AI aims to fill this gap and build a supply chain for physical artificial intelligence.
Although Bone AI focuses on defense technology, Lee emphasized that the company is not limited to this area and aims to build a "physical artificial intelligence" company. Bone AI plans to first establish a solid supply chain in South Korea and then expand it to the United States, Europe, and other allied countries.
