At the Baidu World Conference 2025, Baidu founder Robin Li delivered a speech titled "Emergent Effects," emphasizing that when AI capabilities are internalized, intelligence is no longer a cost but a key driver of productivity. Li pointed out that the current AI industry structure is undergoing a shift from a "normal pyramid" to an "inverted pyramid," which will significantly increase the value of AI models and applications.

Li stated that the traditional AI industry structure allows the underlying chips to capture most of the value, while the value of models and applications is relatively small, creating an unhealthy situation. In the "inverted pyramid" structure, the value of models should be ten times that of chips, and the value of applications should reach 100 times that of chips. This structure helps promote sustainable development in the AI industry.

He further pointed out that as AI capabilities continue to advance, various innovations at the application layer are changing the way we live and work. He mentioned that AI capabilities are not limited to chatbots, but also include digital human technology and self-evolving intelligent agents, which will make AI better integrated into daily work, becoming a core driving force for the development of enterprises and individuals.

Li also introduced three application directions for enterprises to effectively internalize AI capabilities: first, replacing repetitive labor, such as programming assistance tools; second, providing unlimited productivity supply, such as AI-generated content that will significantly increase; and third, through continuous learning and iteration, AI can discover new solutions.

When talking about digital humans, he said that this new type of interface will change human-computer interaction, making communication more natural. Additionally, Baidu is leading globally in the AI reform of its search engine, with most search results now generated by AI, offering users a richer experience.

Li concluded that AI will help us find global optimal solutions we have never considered before, and called on everyone to transform their problems into tasks that AI can solve. He emphasized that only by internalizing AI as a fundamental capability can we achieve a true productivity revolution.
