In recent market research, the South Korean AI chat tool application "zeta" has surpassed the globally renowned ChatGPT with an extremely high usage time, becoming a new choice for South Korean users. According to data released by the South Korean market research institution Wiseapp・Retail, in the AI chat tool usage time ranking for October, zeta topped the list with 73.62 million hours of usage, becoming the most popular chat tool.

This survey covered 36.61 million Android users and 14.61 million iOS users, showing that South Korean local products are gradually gaining advantages in the competitive market. Following closely behind is ChatGPT, which ranked second with 48.28 million hours of usage. Other competitors such as Crack, Grok AI, and CHATIE came later, with 8.98 million hours, 1.95 million hours, and 1.83 million hours of usage respectively, indicating a preference for locally developed products in the South Korean market.

Although ChatGPT still leads in the number of active users (MAU), with 21.25 million monthly active users, zeta also shows strong growth, with 3.36 million monthly active users. Additionally, other applications such as wrtn and A. have relatively fewer active users, indicating a high level of market concentration.

This change not only reflects the support of South Korean users for locally developed products, but also highlights the rapid development of AI technology in the field of chat tools. As user demand for personalization and localization increases, local products like zeta may capture a larger market share in the future.

Furthermore, as AI technology continues to advance, more feature-rich and user-friendly chat tools will emerge, further intensifying competition in this field. Users will be able to enjoy more intelligent services, which is a positive signal for the entire industry.
