Recently, Infosys officially launched its new product - Infosys Topaz Fabric, a "composable stack" composed of AI agents, services, and models, designed to help enterprises realize value from AI investments faster. Topaz Fabric allows enterprises to access integrated, modular "software as a service" through a single interface, reimagining IT processes, and effectively avoiding vendor lock-in. Infosys states that Topaz Fabric can provide plug-and-play AI-driven capabilities on top of enterprises' existing IT investments, covering multiple areas such as IT operations, transformation, quality engineering, and cybersecurity.

The platform includes over 50 AI agents specifically designed for IT operations and is pre-integrated across nine enterprise platforms. Infosys emphasizes that these services will be customized according to each enterprise's specific environment with the assistance of their front-line deployment engineers, ensuring high-quality IT services are delivered at an "exponential" speed and accuracy.

In addition, the services in Topaz Fabric are designed to enable "AI agents working in collaboration with humans." These AI agents can perform end-to-end workflows, automate or eliminate repetitive tasks, and enhance the efficiency of human employees. For example, Infosys' AI HR agent can handle employee inquiries about business travel via chat or email and generate corresponding travel requests. Human employees are responsible for supervising, training, and continuously providing background information to these AI agents to ensure accuracy, governance, and ethical compliance.

Infosys views Topaz Fabric as part of its broader strategy to promote modular, governable, and value-centric enterprise AI systems, helping customers accelerate digital transformation while maintaining oversight and trust in AI-driven operations. Satish HC, Infosys' Chief Delivery Officer, said: "Infosys Topaz Fabric brings the transformative power of AI combined with human creativity, enhancing the efficiency of service delivery in enterprise environments while building upon existing investments."
