Microsoft has recently introduced two major new features for Microsoft 365 Copilot — App Builder (Application Builder) and Workflows, aimed at empowering employees to create small applications and automate daily tasks through text commands, transforming the AI assistant into a powerful productivity tool creator.
According to AIbase, the App Builder feature allows employees to quickly set up basic tools, such as project dashboards or data tables, by using natural language descriptions with data from Word, Excel, or SharePoint. This means non-technical users can build and deploy lightweight applications that are relevant to their work, secure, and fully functional, all within minutes without coding skills.
At the same time, the new "Workflows" feature elevates the ability to handle repetitive tasks to a new level. Users simply need to describe the desired action through text commands, and Copilot will automatically execute it in Microsoft 365 apps such as Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, such as sending emails, posting updates in Teams, or managing calendars. This feature greatly simplifies daily process automation.
Microsoft emphasized that both new tools follow its existing enterprise-level security and compliance rules and use standard access control. All activities are managed uniformly through the Microsoft 365 management console, ensuring data security and consistent permissions. Currently, the "Workflows" feature is available to Frontier Program participants, while the "App Builder" feature will be released soon.
