WeChat Integrates DeepSeek Large Model, Claims AI Will Not Use Moments Chat Information

Recently, WeChat announced that its search feature has integrated the DeepSeek-R1 model, which is currently in the gray testing phase. Some users can experience the deep thinking capabilities provided by DeepSeek-R1 when they select AI search in the WeChat search box.

WeChat stated that the introduction of large models aims to enhance the intelligence and accuracy of searches, better understand user search intentions, and analyze complex queries. Currently, WeChat search has integrated large models including Hunyuan and DeepSeek to enrich user experience.

Regarding data sources, WeChat AI search includes not only content from official accounts within the WeChat ecosystem but also integrates high-quality information from the entire internet to provide more comprehensive answers. WeChat emphasizes that AI search only uses information from official accounts and publicly available internet data, and will not involve users' privacy information such as Moments or chat records.

Additionally, WeChat announced that users who have not been included in the AI search gray testing can click on the search bar at the top of the WeChat chat window to access WeChat search, where they may see a prompt to "Download Yuanbao (Experience DeepSeek R1)." Through Tencent Yuanbao, users can use the full version of DeepSeek R1, DeepSeek-V3, Tencent Hunyuan deep thinking model T1, and Tencent Hunyuan general model Turbo for free.
